n8n is a workflow automation platform. It does the job Zapier and Make do, but it runs in your own account, handles real logic and branching, and prices by workflow execution rather than per step - so a workflow with twenty steps costs the same as one with three. Self-hosted, there is no usage charge at all. That last part is why most Australian businesses we speak to are moving to it - a Zapier bill that made sense at 500 tasks a month stops making sense at 50,000.
The catch is that n8n rewards someone who knows it. A workflow that works on a good day is easy. One that keeps working when an API times out, a webhook fires twice, or a file arrives in the wrong format is a different job - and that is the gap most businesses hit after their first build.
That is what we do. Workvolve is a Brisbane-based n8n developer working with businesses across Australia. We scope the process properly, build it in your own n8n instance, test it against the messy real-world cases, and hand it over with documentation and walkthroughs. Error handling is part of every build as standard, so if something fails we get an email before you notice.
