Your details
Your signature
Copies with formatting. In Gmail: Settings → Signature → paste. In Outlook: Signatures → paste. Runs entirely in your browser.
What a good email signature does
Your signature is on every email you send. Done well, it looks professional, makes you easy to contact, and quietly markets your business on every reply. Done badly - or missing entirely - it looks unfinished and costs you the odd bit of trust.
The goal is clean and useful, not a billboard. Name, role, one phone number, email, website. A short tagline if it earns its place. Skip the giant logo, the five social icons, and the inspirational quote.
What to include
- Name and role - so people know who they are dealing with.
- One phone number - the best one to reach you on, not three.
- Email and website - both clickable.
- A short tagline - optional, one line on what you do.
How to add it
In Gmail, go to Settings, scroll to Signature, create a new one and paste. In Outlook, go to Signatures under settings and paste into a new signature. The copy button here keeps the formatting, so it drops in looking right.
If your team all needs a consistent signature, or you want signatures that update themselves when details change, that is a small automation worth doing once. Workvolve builds those, along with the bigger admin automations that actually save you hours. Grab our free invoice generator while you are here, or book a call to see what else is worth automating.
